American oak barrels, used for over 12 years to mature Chivas Regal's original whisky, were sent from Scotland to Masuda Sake Brewery in Toyama Prefecture. These barrels were used to age several varieties of Masuizumi, a top-quality Junmai Daiginjo with unique characteristics. With this recent update, new barrels, typically used for rare single-malt whiskies, were specially imported for LINK.8's barrel aging. Additionally, rare vintage Japanese sake was blended, and the barrel aging period was extended from 6 to 10 months, resulting in a more complex and unique sake. Compared to Link 8888, even rarer, higher-quality vintage Japanese sake was used, and the barrel aging period was further extended from 6 months to 10 months. The bottle, stopper, and gift box were designed by the renowned London design firm NUDE.
