Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve 12 Year Old is a masterpiece crafted by the Chivas Regal Master Blender as a tribute to Japan’s ever-evolving traditional culture. This innovative creation began with a unique approach: maturing the renowned sake “Masuizumi” from Toyama Prefecture in oak casks that were originally used to age Chivas Regal whiskies. A portion of Chivas Regal, aged for over 12 years, is then finished in these exceptional sake-seasoned casks.

The result is a beautifully harmonized blend of Chivas Regal’s signature richness and smoothness, elevated by delicate and fruity aromas.

While this product is categorized as “whisky” under Japan’s Liquor Tax Law, the use of sake casks for finishing is unprecedented for Scotch whisky. As such, it falls outside the guidelines of the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), and is therefore classified as a “Spirit Drink” in the UK. To meet the regulatory definition of “Spirit Drink,” a trace amount of hop flavor is added, though it has no sensory or flavor impact.
