At the time of its creation, I was obsessed with translating memories into scent. My father had spent about 10–15 years living and traveling across Africa.
Reading his diaries gave me the fantasy of arriving in Africa through someone else’s words. Bal d’Afrique became both an imaginary journey and a tribute to the richness of African culture as I perceive it.”
