In the solo exhibition "Abandoned Mirror" at Gallery Nomaru from March to April 2024, I created a series of monotype works centered around the theme of mirrors. Monotype is a printmaking technique where an image painted on a glass or acrylic plate is transferred to paper, resulting in a unique print that is a mirror image, flipped from left to right. Initially, I found it challenging to reconcile the deep significance of the word "mirror" with the lightness of the finished artworks. However, after over six months of dedicated effort, I completed around 130 pieces, including this one.
