I aimed to capture the energy that flows from branches and the unseen forces surrounding us. Unlike wall installations, I sought to illustrate this energy field within the confines of paper. Countless lines and spaces depict where energies touch, overlap, and intersect. How does the energy from the tips of life-giving branches compare to that from the tips of human fingers? As I drew, I contemplated the direction of these energies. The two-color drawing in red and blue evokes paired concepts: gravity and anti-gravity, movement and stillness, the visible and the invisible, continuity and discontinuity. I wanted to delve into the relationship between energy, the universe, humanity, and the Earth, all within a small piece of paper.- Keiji Uematsu
