Most of my photographs focus on everyday life. However, instead of portraying it in a straightforward way, I often find inspiration in subtle deviations and minor illusions. For instance, when I gaze at the night sky, a crescent moon may appear blurred, resembling a bunch of bananas. I might mistakenly perceive tiny fish emerging from a fish I’ve just filleted as its offspring, evoking a sense of melancholy. While peeling a leaf of lettuce, a rolling leaf can look like a hand cradling something precious. Through these skewed perspectives, what I interpret as everyday life transforms into a kind of fiction—a story.
I am drawn to this concept and strive to capture it by photographing objects against a white background, giving titles to these printed short stories, and concluding my work with another skewed perspective. My photographs often recreate the story of everyday life rather than depict it directly.
