Height: 63.8, Width: 78.2 cm
This print work was created for a solo exhibition at Gallery Nomaru in 2004. The oil paintings primarily feature motifs that convey a strong sense of texture, such as cushions and bedding. In contrast, the prints showcase selections with a slightly hard and smooth texture, including potted plants, parts of chairs, and toilet paper. By layering multiple prints in soft tones and intentionally muted colors using silk screen on a synthetic matte paper called Yupo, the composition achieves a rich, layered quality of color despite its simplicity. Furthermore, a glossy transparent medium printed on the surface enhances the texture, resulting in a unique tactile finish. This work embodies a distinct tension that sets it apart from oil painting, reflecting the artist's unwavering commitment to surface texture and the printer's dedicated efforts to realize that vision.
